If you are interested, please e-mail your resume to Monticello_Methodist@yahoo.com or mail them to the church at 308 Island Ford Road, Statesville, NC 28625 MONTICELLO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CHURCH SECRETARY GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION The Church Secretary shall perform those duties commonly associated with the position of church secretary. She/he shall be responsible to the Pastor regarding daily operations, between the hours of 9am and 1pm, Monday—Friday. General Responsibilities: 1. Shall coordinate and direct the volunteers in their duties. 2. Shall be responsible for general church correspondence, filing and record keeping. 3. Shall maintain an adequate inventory of church stationery, paper, and office supplies. 4. Shall be responsible for incoming and outgoing mail. 5. Shall be responsible for the use of the office machinery including skilled in Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher. 6. Shall coordinate with the Trustees for the work of maintenance and cleaning of the building. Shall maintain up-to-date personnel files including record of days accumulated and used for each staff member in regards to vacation, continuing education, and sick days Specific Duties 1. Shall provide secretarial support to the professional staff of the church. She/he shall handle and distribute correspondence (fax, telephone, e-mail, mail) 2. Shall maintain an accurate and current list of patients in the hospitals, nursing and retirement homes and homebound members. 3. She/he shall assist the Pastor and Membership Care Leader in acquiring information concerning the pastoral needs of the congregation. 4. Shall forward appropriate information to the Membership Care Leader. Coordinate and forward to and from information as requested by Ministry Team Leaders. 5.Shall be responsible for the preparation of the Sunday bulletin, Wednesday bulletin, monthly newsletter and any other printed material as needed. 6. Shall be responsible for the scheduling of the use of the church facilities. 7. Shall compile and produce all power point slide shows for all services, working with the Pastor, worship leaders and music leader. 8. Shall mail notification of meetings and maintain church website weekly or as needed. General 1. All matters related to the work shall be done with utmost fidelity to the principal of confidentiality. Violation of this principle shall be considered grounds for immediate termination. 2. Shall be provided annual sick leave in accordance with the Personnel Policies established by the Staff-Parish Committee. 3. Position will have a 90 day Probationary Period. 4. In accordance with the Personnel Policies, either party with a written letter and 2 week notice may give a notice of termination, unless waived by the Staff-Parish Committee. 5. Shall perform other duties, as from time-to-time assigned by the Pastor and/or Staff-Parish Committee. 6. Shall maintain a positive spiritual attitude. 7. Shall report to the Pastor and is amenable to the Staff-Parish Committee. 8. Position will have an annual evaluation by the Staff-Parish Committee. |
